From the very beginning of Mag's Coffee Shop, we were concerned about offering alternative products to plastic and Styrofoam for our coffee business.

Our cups and lids are made from renewable resources or recycled content, which tread lightly on the environment from beginning to end of life.
We think our choices are in the interest of future generations and the health of our planet.

Mag's Coffee uses biodegradable corn cups

At Mag's Coffee Shop, our fully compostable cups come with a stylish green design and the environmental
message is clear: "Made from 100% Compostable Corn". These cups are as strong and durable as their
traditional plastic counterparts and provide a renewable way for us to save resources without compromising performance. These "Corn Cups" have a heat tolerance of 110 degrees Fahrenheit and are BPI certified compostable.

Our hot cups are Eco-friendly compostable cups and are made from fully renewable resources that feature a corn-based plastic coating as a moisture barrier. This new corn-based plastic coating makes the cup compostable in municipal and commercial composting facilities.

At Mag's Coffee Shop, we use less toxic cleaners to improve indoor air quality and reduce risks to employee health.

Cut Water Waste

One billion people on our planet can't get safe drinking water. In the United States,
some rivers are being drawn down faster than nature can fill them up. Using water efficiently today will help ensure that future generations have access to the water they need. At Mag's Coffee Shop, we have installed low-flow toilets, keep a check on and repair all leaks, and our landscaping is designed for maximum water efficiency.

Recycle

We receive all of our supplies in cardboard boxes, usually packed with cardboard fillers. At Mag's Coffee Shop, we take the time to sort and flatten all cardboard material and personally deliver it to the recycle bin at a local disposal plant.

We also rinse, flatten and recycle all of our milk jugs and other plastic containers.

Reuse

We never really realized just how many used coffee grounds we could accumulate in a day at a coffee shop. At Mag's Coffee Shop, we use the coffee grounds to fertilize our gardens. The flowers love them.
