Our Coffee at Mag's Coffee Shop
|
 |
After months of tasting coffees from different countries around the world, Mag's Coffee Shop chose a clean, crisp full-bodied Fair Trade Certified coffee from the western growing region of Guatemala.
The high altitude of the Sierra Madre range, rich volcanic soil and ample rainfall make Guatemala a land of great complex coffees.
Splendora is a medium-bodied organic coffee with notes of sweet honey and spicy flavors. |
Coffee beans grown at a high altitude produce a slower maturing fruit and therefore a more flavorful cup of coffee.
We insist that our Splendora House Blend be small-batch roasted no more than 24 hours before it arrives in our coffee shop in order for us to deliver our customers the best cup of coffee possible.
Splendora is the name Maggie chose for this coffee. When you enter our coffee shop you will immediately detect hints of Texas, since Maggie was born in Texas. Splendora is a small town in east Texas, the hometown of many of Maggie's relatives.
Splendora is a great coffee, freshly medium roasted, freshly ground and brewed in the best equipment we could find.
If you haven't had a cup of Splendora, we invite you to come in today and experience the best cup of coffee in this part of the country. |
Ethiopian Yirgacheffe
The cream of the crop is Ethiopian Yirgacheffe which is considered by many to be the finest Ethiopian coffee and one of the world's most distinctive coffees. This intense feeling coffee enhances the palate with its very distinctive floral bouquet, rich body, a pleasingly fragrant aroma, with a smooth mellowness that's unique unto itself.
Like other premium quality gourmet coffees, Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee beans are picked by hand.

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is a washed coffee in which the coffee beans, after having the outer layers of skin and fruity pulp removed, are soaked up to 72 hours in fermentation tanks. Beans treated with this "wet" method will generally have a higher acidity, a cleaner winey or floral flavor, and more of a full body than the beans processed by the dry method.
Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is an organic coffee and is Fair Trade Certified. It is available for retail sale at Mag's Coffee Shop and we think you will agree, this coffee tastes as good as coffee smells.
